A Plush Toy, Blanket, and a Pillow All-In-One! Win a Zoobie Blanket of Choice! US Only Ends 8/20

My son Jaden has a little "friend" that he has had since he was born named "Nubby"! Nubby is a blanket with a bear head sewed in the center. I think they are actually called "Loveys" but Jaden named his Nubby as soon as he started talking, so Nubby it is! He sleeps with it every night and still, at 5 years old, if he's upset or nervous about something, he carries Nubby around with him! A "Lovey" is very important to a child! He is their first best friend, companion, and a source of comfort! I think these Zoobies are so cute and any child would be lucky to have one to be their "Nubby"! Read on for the Zoobie review and giveaway! And as always, dear readers,
Good Luck!

Funbites Review & Giveaway! US only Ends 7/25

Do you have a picky eater in your household?  Are you constantly trying to think of ways to get your child(ren) to eat different, healthy foods and coming up blank? I have a great idea for you! It's called Funbites! Funbites is an awesome kitchen tool that cuts your child's food up into fun, bite-sized pieces! It's an easy way to make food more fun and make even the pickiest eater want to eat new, healthy foods! Funbites come in 2 different varieties. Cube It, which cuts the food into small cubes, and Luv It, which cuts food into bite-sized hearts! For my review, I chose the Luv It variety. Here is what Funbites looks like:
It is actually 2 pieces! The middle piece pulls out and you cut the food with the bottom part. Then you use the middle insert to push the food out of the bottom piece.
The instructions I received with the unit stated as follows:

Step 1: Place Funbites cutter on top of food. Remove popper top and place to the side.
Step 2: Grab handles on both sides of the cutter. Press down, and firmly rock back & forth 5-6 times to cut all the way through the food. Press hard; Funbites can take it!
Step 3: Insert popper top. Lift cutter up from the food and push down popper to pop out fun-shaped bite-sized pieces.
Step 4: Time to clean up! Prefer hand wash or dishwasher safe.

Jaden and I used the Funbites cutter on some watermelon and his peanut butter & jelly sandwich yesterday and I went to take a picture of the food, but my batteries were dead on my camera! It just figures! LOL So the pictures below are from the Funbites website.

There are a ton of really cute things you can do with the Funbites cutter! It's all up to your imagination!  I like that it's dishwasher safe and 100% Made in the USA! It's also BPA free!

Safety instructions: Make sure you wash the unit thoroughly before using. Funbites has a functional blade so it's intended for adult use. Use caution when using and washing the unit. Small food bites may be a choking hazard for children under 3!

Buy it: To purchase your own Funbites, visit Funbites.com! Each unit is $12.99, you can get both the Cube It and Luv It for $22.00! To keep up on all the news from Funbites, please visit their Facebook page and click "like"!

Win it: The kind people at Funbites are offering a Lucky Emerald's reader their choice of either the Cube It or the Luv It! Just fill out the rafflecopter form below for your chance to win!

Good Luck!

Devany's Designs Etsy Store Review and Product Giveaway! US Only-Ends 7/22!

Devany's Designs Etsy Store is a store that is dedicated to party supplies! They specialize in banners of all sizes, shapes and themes! They also carry invitations, cake and cupcake toppers, party hats to match the banners, and party games! I was given the opportunity to review a banner of my choice so since Jaden's 5th birthday party is coming up, I ordered the Cars banner! Shipping was really quick! From the time I ordered it to the time it got here, was less than a week! Here's what it looked like when it got here:

Originally, the banner was in a large yellow padded envelope and it was packaged in a plastic bag tied with a ribbon. I immediately took it out and hung the banner up to see what it looked like! Here's a few pictures of this awesome banner!

The banner is about 8 foot long total, but from the beginning of the Happy to the end of Birthday is about 6 feet. The letters and Lightening McQueen are hung on black ribbon allowing the letters to be moved along the ribbon if you wanted the letters to be closer together or further apart. The quality of the letters is great! They are made of a thick paper and are laminated.

I was very pleased with my experience with Devany's Designs. I will definitely visit the store again when I need other party supplies!

Buy it: If you'd like to purchase a banner or other party supplies, please visit Devany Designs Etsy Store. You can also visit them at their Facebook Page or at Devany's Designs Blog. You can follow them on their Pinterest Page as well!

Win it:  Devany's Designs would like to offer a Lucky Emerald's Reader a $20 credit to their Etsy store! Enjoy free shipping, unless you order any of the cupcake toppers. If you want the cupcake toppers, you MUST pay the shipping yourself. You can use the credit for a free item up to $20. If your order is over $20, you must pay the difference.

It's easy to win! Just fill out the rafflecopter below! Enter as many or as few of the tasks as you'd like! The more tasks you complete, the more chances you have to WIN!

Bad Mommy by Willow Yamauchi book review

As long as there have been people on this earth there has been pressure placed on women to be a "Good Mommy". Once we have children, that's exactly what we strive so hard to be! Women put a lot of pressure on themselves, and each other for that matter, to be the "best" mommy. We compete with each other, some mommies more than others, by comparing our children to those of the other mommies. We enroll our children in activity after activity so we can say we've raised the most "well rounded" children. We place excess pressure on our kids in school so we can say we've raised the "smartest" kids. Little did we know, that whatever we do, all we really are is a "Bad Mommy". In this book, "Bad Mommy" author Willow Yamauchi teaches us that we are really just stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to raising our kids!

With chapters such as "Bad Mommy Gains Weight" and "Bad Dental Care Mommy", Willow goes through each aspect of birthing and raising children, from conception all the way to your child moving out on their own. She teaches us that there are many, many ways of parenting and that no one way is really the right one. There are pros and cons of each decision that you will make and inevitably, someone will think you're a "Bad Mommy" because of it! Someone, somewhere out there will criticize us for every decision that we make! Willow teaches us to take these criticisms with a grain of salt and while making your own educated decisions about all aspects of your child's life, you should feel good about them. We need to stop relying on what society says is right and just do what makes us feel good about it. Willow writes about these subjects with humor and definitely doesn't beat around the bush! She really tells it like it is and that is refreshing to me.

At the end of each chapter, we are introduced to a couple of admitted "Bad Mommies" who tell of their experiences based on that chapter's category. These stories helped me to feel like I was not alone in the decisions that I've been making as a parent. These are real stories, from real women and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one out there making mistakes!

Here is an extremely funny except from the book and just one example of Willow's straightforwardness:

"...Positioning your baby to sleep is likewise ripe grounds for showing your failure as a parent. Sleep positioning rules have changed no less than three times in the last ten years. First, babies were to sleep on their tummies so that vomit would spill out their darling little mouths and they would not choke to death. Then, no, that was terrible! Babies had to be propped on their sides so that vomit could drain out of their darling mouths with no choking. Of course, a year or so later, this changed again and all good mommies put their babies to sleep on their backs so that the vomit can drain out of their darling little mouths and they will not choke to death somehow (like babies actually stay in the position you put them to sleep in anyway). Babies not sleeping on their backs will likely get SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) and die, the direct result of poor sleep positioning by their bad mommy. Likely by the time this book is published, babies will need to sleep suspended upside down from the left ankle
only, which will allow for optimal vomit drainage."

It's my opinion that all moms should read this book. We all need to hear that we are all going to be a bad mommy, so just relax and enjoy your children. They will turn out just fine. Now that I've read this amazing book, I am proud to be a "Bad Mommy".

Thank you to author Willow Yamauchi for allowing me to read and review her book. Your book has truly changed my outlook on parenting for the better, and I appreciate that!

Until next time,

Hugs,

Personalized Designs Review and Personalized T-shirt Giveaway! US-Ends 7/20

I am a huge fan of using personalized items for just about everything! From office supplies to jewelry to birthday parties! So when I discovered Personalized Designs, I was excited to see what great personalized items she had in her store! I sent her a message telling her that my son's birthday was coming up and that I wanted to have personalized decorations and such, so she designed a t-shirt for Jaden to wear to his birthday party! Here is the shirt she sent:

Close-up of the graphic

The t-shirt was the only item I was expecting, so imagine my surprise when I got the package in the mail and not only did I get the t-shirt, but there was also favor boxes stickers and magnets that say "Thanks For Coming" with Lightening McQueen on them and Jaden's name, and a 2 year planner from Personalized Designs with her logo on it! See below:

Here is a close-up of the favor box stickers:

I wasn't expecting these extras, but I sure do appreciate them! I was planning to do favor boxes for all the children that come to Jaden's party, and now each box will have a cute sticker that matches the theme of the party and has Jaden's name on it! I am also really glad she sent me the 2 year planner! I am an organizational freak sometimes, and will make great use of it!

Shipping was really quick! From the time I ordered the t-shirt to the time the package got here, it was less than a week. Jaden's birthday party is in a few weeks and I still plan on ordering some personalized cups. I'm confident that they will get here before the big day!

At Personalized Designs, she has a lot of different items you can personalize! She has clothing from size Newborn up to 3XL, Birth Announcement Baby Blankets, Photo Jewelry, Stickers and Magnets, and a section of items just for dogs! She also has a lot of extra items on her Facebook page that aren't shown in her Etsy store so be sure to check that out too! Don't forget to "Like" the page! There is also a website that features even MORE of her items!

All in all, I was extremely pleased with the experience I had with Personalized Designs! Their products are of the highest quality and their service is amazing. I would highly recommend that Lucky Emerald's readers consider Personalized Designs for all of their personalized needs!
